BLOG BIRTHDAY GUEST POST: Natasha Moore

Celebrate Good Times

I love celebrations, don’t you? I’m happy to be part of the month-long birthday celebration here at Sarah Says…Read Romance! Fun and books and giveaways all month long. It doesn’t get much better than this.

I’m a firm believer in celebrating all the little stepping-stones along whatever journey you’re on. When I started down my writing path, I celebrated my first completed manuscript. My first request for a full manuscript. My first rejection. Okay…I probably didn’t celebrate that first rejection, or the many more that came after. But that first sale? The first review? The first contest win? I celebrated all my firsts…and I continue to celebrate every step of the way.

Because most journeys are hard. Whether it’s losing twenty pounds or completing an eighty-thousand word manuscript, it takes a lot of work. And a lot of time. So celebrate every five pound loss. Every chapter finished. The journey will go a little easier if you do.

That doesn’t mean going out for champagne and a steak dinner every time. Unless you have the money and the desire, of course. Sometimes my celebration was a glass of wine or some peanut butter fudge ice cream. Sometimes it was a new pair of shoes or that book I was dying to read. Sometimes I celebrated by doing the happy dance around my office before I sat down and got back to work.

Right now I’m celebrating the print release of my first two contemporary royalty romances, Her Royal Masquerade and Her Royal Bodyguard. I published these books myself and learning how to format them for print was a journey in itself, believe me. And I’m working on a new series even as I’m working to wrap up the Her Royal Romance series. All celebration worthy goals.

So Happy Blog Birthday! I’m doing the happy dance for you here in my office. And I’ll be giving away an autographed print copy of my erotic romance, Silken Canvas, which I think has one of the most beautiful covers ever, to one lucky commenter. Just tell me how you like to celebrate!

Natasha
