REVIEW: A Highlander's Obsession by Vonnie Davis

Description

Two wandering souls discover that true love needs no words in this explosive, fantastical novel from Vonnie Davis.

Somehow able to telepathically communicate with animals, Paisley Munro has found meaning in her so-called gifts by working as a veterinary assistant. But while traveling to Scotland for a relative’s funeral, Paisley fears that she really has lost her mind. Out in the highlands, she hears distinctly human thoughts coming from a wild bear. Terrified and desperate, she returns to the lodge and collapses in the powerful arms of its owner, a mysterious man with whom she shares a simmering attraction.

Creighton Matheson and his fellow shape-shifters have been roaming this land freely for centuries. Now Paisley may inherit his home, putting his kind in grave danger. His mistrust only deepens when he realizes she can read his mind. Yet he cannot deny that this tantalizing woman makes him burn with desire—and hunger for the prospect of a tender love. Now Creighton must decide which would hurt more: revealing the truth or losing Paisley forever.

ADRI'S REVIEW:

First of all like always I want to thank NetGalley and Random House Loveswept for providing us with a copy of this book so we could bring you this review.

So I think Ms. Davis just converted me into a paranormal/shape shifter lover. Yes you heard me right. Me the non-paranormal reader (unless we are talking demons) has fallen in love with a shape shifter series. I easily fell in love with the characters even though at times Creighton's alpha male, domineering ways can be a bit annoying, I found it to also be completely sexy. I loved that even though it is a shape shifter story it isn't a wolf shifter, and I will let you all read it to find out what he shifts into. Paisley is also a strong and great character. I enjoyed that she is special in that she has an ability to speak to animals. I also like how she recognizes that Creighton is her other half. And yes it really does feel that way. They belong together it is as if they should've always been together. It feels so natural.

There is one other character I completely fell in love with in this book and that is Paisley's grandmother. She alone could have had me hooked on this book. She is so enjoyable.

I look forward to reading more on Bryce and Ronan in future books as well as other characters throughout this Scottish series.

Happy reading... Adri
