Synopsis
Readers back for a third
round of the bestselling Cocktail series will enjoy a madcap romantic
comedy about bodice ripping and chest heaving, fiery passion and love
everlasting. Plus a dash of paperwork filing and horseshi—wait, what?
By day, Viv Franklin designs software programs. By night, Vivian’s a secret romance-novel junkie who longs for a knight in shining armor, or a cowboy on a wild stallion, or a strapping firefighter to sweep her off her feet. And she gets to wear the bodice—don’t forget the bodice.
When a phone call brings news that she’s inherited a beautiful old home in Mendocino, California from a long-forgotten aunt, she moves her entire life across the country to embark on what she sees as a great, romance-novel-worthy adventure. But romance novels always have a twist, don’t they?
There’s a cowboy, one that ignites her loins. Because Cowboy Hank is totally loin-ignition worthy. But there’s also a librarian, Clark Barrow. And he calls her Vivian. Can tweed jackets and elbow patches compete with chaps and spurs? You bet your sweet cow pie.
In Screwdrivered, Alice Clayton pits Superman against Clark in a hilarious and hot battle that delights a swooning Viv/Vivian.
Also within this book, an answer to the question of the ages: Why ride a cowboy when you can ride a librarian?

Erin's Review
I freaking LOVE VIV! I thought this series couldn't get any better, then Screwdrivered came along. Yes, I know, it's not Simon and Caroline but that's ok. We have Viv and a sexy cowboy AND a sexy librarian!
Viv thinks she's living a real life romance novel. Kinda funny coming from a woman dolled up in combat boots. She's a fly by the seat of your pants kind of gal and I like that. She isn't afraid to take a chance. I mean, who else would move across country to move in to a house that an aunt you barely knew gave you? Viv would! Philly girl meets farm! Then she meets Clark, sexy, uptight, tweed patches wearing Clark. He isn't her biggest fan at first and I loved the fact that she pushed him, or punched him, take your pick. Then there's Hank, the sexy cowboy that takes care of the animals. Yes, animals, like horses and chickens. What's a city girl from Philly going to know about chickens, right? So she needs Hank. She dreams about Hank, she wants Hank. Now if only he would turn around and see her pushed up cleavage.....
Simon and Caroline make their appearance, along with Mimi and Ryan. The foursome descend on Viv's house of clutter and in a whirlwind, help get things in order, although Viv isn't too happy with Caroline bonding with Clark over the balustrade.
The banter is witty, the tension is high and I think I like Viv as much as I like Simon. She got spunk. It's the Philly in her, it has to be.
I can't wait to see what's next in the series. It's one of my favorites and this one is up there with Wallbanger for me. Keep 'em coming Alice!
