My Review

As we are nearing the end of Erica and Blake's journey, one thing remains clear...each book gets better and better. What could simply be just another billionaire alpha book has become an intricately woven tale of love, mystery, secrets and discovery. 

This time we get inside of Blake's head a little bit to see what makes him tick. I must admit, I didn't like Blake much in Hard Line. He was a bit too controlling and it appeared he wanted Erica to give up too much of herself to fulfill his needs. I quickly learned that this isn't the case. Erica baffles him. She's a paradox that constantly goes head to head with him and it is very apparent to me that the one that is in danger of submitting fully is Blake. 

Erica pushes Blake's limits in this book. It's good to see that she hasn't lost her sass. I like that about her. She's still determined to stand on her own in the business world and at the very least, have Blake beside her, not controlling her every move. Her independent streak of course, drives him mad . 

We got a glimpse of his past this time and just how much he really his from Erica. He is adamant that part of himself from her. She is his light. He doesn't want that tarnished by the dark doings of what he was before her. 

The roles were a bit switched this time and Blake was the one that seemed a tad more vulnerable. Erica pushed him instead of the other way around. It's the ultimate power exchange and one we aren't used to seeing Blake give up. 

Of course the rest of the gang makes an appearance and a nemesis from Blake's past comes back with a vengeance. Only thing I'll say about that is, he better let Erica loose. That would be an awesome sight to see. 

You MUST read the other books in the series before reading Hard Limit. The flow beautifully and Meredith's writing style is perfection. I think the woman could write the phone book and turn it in to one hell of a story. 

5 must read stars from me and I cannot wait for the conclusion of Erica and Blake's story!

 If you read Meredith Wild's Hacker Series, be prepared...this is NOT the Hacker series. Cameron and Maya's story is sad, heartbreaking, frustrating and a reunion that you aren't quite sure is ever going to happen.
After turning down Cameron's proposal, Maya lost herself. She drank hard and partied harder. She didn't get attached to anything other than the drink in her hand and that suited her just fine. You get the sense she is operating on auto-pilot and isn't really living. You just want to grab her and shake her out of her funk and make her believe she is worthy of love.
Cameron walked away from the love of his life. He wanted to marry Maya, it was that simple. He didn't care that she didn't come from money, he just wanted her. He threw himself in to his military career, then when that was over, started a gym, just blocks away from Maya's apartment. He never forgot her and like Maya, threw himself in to his job to mask the pain.
After a chance meting with Cameron's sister, Maya is faced with emotions she fought like hell to avoid. A chance yoga session with her bff/roommate brings her face to face with the one person that could either be her downfall, or save her from herself.
This story is just as much Cam's as it is Maya's. Both are trying to live their lives but just can't move on. Meredith addresses the very real subject of alcoholism in a very real way that makes you think it really could happen to anyone. Maya frustrates you to no end. She has every excuse in the book why she needs that drink, and every time she does, it gets her in to nothing but trouble. Cam is the one person that calls her on her problem and doesn't accept excuses. He may mess up and you just want to groan and say, "WHY CAM WHY?!?!" but his heart is in the right place.
Through their journey they find that their initial pact of being "just friends" is going to be much harder than they thought.
The supporting characters are amazing!! Eli quickly became my favorite. Everyone needs an Eli. Vanessa is the girlfriend you love to hang with. She's your go to girl. These two, along with Cam's brother, Darren help our couple realize what they have is real, they just both have to take a chance.
The one thing I love about this story is that it is very....real. It's emotional, it's frustrating, it will have you crying tears of sadness and joy by the end.
Meredith Wild proves once again that she is a force to be reckoned with in the literary world. Certainly one of my Top 10 so far this year.

Omfg!! Those were my words after reading Hardpressed. I didn't think Hardwired could be topped, by Hardpressed is right up there with the first book in the Hacker Series.
 Erica could be any one of us. Smart, sassy, independent, vulnerable, trusting, self sacrificing. Her willingness to let Blake in to every aspect of her life speaks volumes of her feelings toward him. Her inner struggle on whether to submit fully to his domineering ways is played out well and doesn't take away from the trust she has in Blake. She wants to remain her own person and the thought of full submission is scary. She is also wrestling her own personal monsters of the past that just keep creeping in to her life and don't seem to want to let go.
 Blake is just a million shades of sexy, no matter how you cut it. He makes nerds look good! Naturally domineering, he wants nothing more for Erica to trust him fully. On the other hand, he doesn't want her to do anything she doesn't want to. He loves her. He wants to protect her. He will never leave her side, no matter what happens and will go to any lengths at all to make sure she is safe.
 Blake and Erica not only make things work out of the bedroom, they connect in ways neither one of them ever experienced in the bedroom. Erica's past seems to always be a barrier between the couple as she pushes herself to forget. If only it would stay buried forever.
 The supporting characters are the right balance for the couple. Her best friend and Blake's brother are fantastic and they give you hope. The unrequited love of a coworker has you feeling sorry for the poor guy, but at the same time, makes you want to slap him(girl logic, only girls would understand).
A demented father and sadistic step brother bring the drama full tilt and plunge our couple in to the biggest test of their relationship so far.
 Erica shines in Hardpressed and I know, I for one, want to take the girl for a drink! And I won't mention the things I want to do to Blake ;)
 I'm so glad their story isn't over yet and cannot wait to see what else they get themselves in to. Will Erica let Blake take over everything? Will Blake lose some of the control he craves so much? Looks like we're going to have to wait for Hardline to find out!
