Hands down my best read of 2015 so far.

Just so we're clear I legit have tears running down my face. I literally about 2 minutes ago finished Maybe and OMG wow. The feels for this book are off the charts.

Music is a subject that hits close to my heart because like Emily Portman and Amber herself I support my local music scene and am out at a local show when possible.

Tyler Mace. Man of a million words.  My favorite thing about him... Blow pops! I am a blow pop fanatic myself and I can tell you that any given time if you are near me and ask for gum, it will be given to you in mini blow pop form.

Emily Portman, Not your average every day woman in her mid-twenties. She wants to feel in life, and she does so through music. It wasn't her first choice but she made the best of it. She strikes me as a timid but not overly shy person. There were multiple times in Maybe where I felt as if I were living in Emily's life. She pulled at my heart strings multiple times in this book because I can see a strong resemblance to a person I have come to love and adore over the last two years.... Strength... Motivation and Courage. Emily packs a whole lot of all 3 of those things.

Tyler Mace, He came off to me as an arrogant man when we were first introduced to him. He is a man who has a past and does anything and everything he can to keep his walls up. He broke my heart multiple times in this story and maybe nor for the reasons you are thinking.

I was hooked from the word go. I have had many people tell me that in the past and I never believed them until I became a reviewer here at Sassy Moms Say:Read Romance. Maybe is one of those books where you say oh another chapter and then bed...  Yeah Right! I said that multiple times and here I sit at 3:15 am writing a review. I cannot give you words of this story in Maybe, doing so would feel like I would give too much of the plot away. All I can day is Maybe, is a one of a kind story with truth to some of the events that happen. I won't go into that because I respect personal/professional boundaries. I LOVED THIS BOOK. POINT BLANK PERIOD. If you want to know why I love Maybe so much, click one of the many buy links and buy it!

1. "Say you missed me." He speaks against my lips, his tongue slipping out to touch mine lightly. "Tell me you thought about me."

3. Being this close just to refrain from touching her is making me want more. and I didn't think that was possible.

I am ecstatic.

These old feelings lie just beneath the surface, and I push them down until I'm sure they've been buried. But in this case, the doubts and fears are crawling up my spine and lodging in my throat.

I am not afraid of failure. I'm afraid I won't fall just because she's here.

I was giving and arc to read for an honest review.

I have to give this one five kisses, would give more if possible but five is the highest on our scale.

Oh wow, where to start? When we first meet Emily we meet a young woman who not really has a past per say but is someone that had her dream life ripped away by someone she would never have imagined would have done. Then here comes Tyler and he makes Emily see the world with new eyes. Tyler himself has been dealt a wild hand at life, but when these two cross paths you can’t help to want these two to find the happiness in life that everyone is entitled to. I have read every book that Amber has released and each one hasn't disappointed me. But this one is by far my absolute favorite, maybe it’s the way this story was told, maybe it was the way Amber    wrote this one with life experience and I related more to it,   or maybe for once I just wanted to root for the underdog and only wish them the best. Either way I'm sure others will love this as much if not more than I did.

Walking toward him is like trudging through the deepest mud, but I hold my head high, my hands in my pockets and strides long. When I'm less than a foot away, his head turns toward me without lifting his chin, and he looks up from under his brows. The white smoke from his cigarette causes his eyes to nearly close before he pulls it from his lips and exhales upward into the air. I'm struck by how incredibly handsome he is in black wool and new jeans. I want to know if his skin feels hot under his clothes and if his back feels the same when I scratch fingernails across his spine. My fists clench in my coat pockets at the thought. I was given an arc for a honest review. 

Eight days a week grasped at my heart strings. This book is all about the things we as people go through in everyday life. Heartbreak, tragedy, love and Happiness.

I have to say I wasn't a big fan of Andrew when I first started the book because he had one thing on his mind, money and women. But then again,  what guys don't?  As the story progressed I found myself falling in love with this fictional Character. I mean come on who doesn't love a man who is great with kids.

Gwen- An extraordinary woman with what seems like all the card is the world against her. She is a loving and   compassionate woman by all means; I just think she needed to open her eyes to realize that.

Brady and Bree- I love these kids and their date wrecking ways! They have been through so much tragedy but   yet are able to find it in themselves to love again.

All in all Eight Days A Week  is one of those books that you need on a day when you are looking for a bit of everything.

I will be recommending this book to others as I loved it!

First off I need to thank Amber L. Johnson for providing us with a copy of the book so we could bring you this review.

Man where to start with this story. Wow. Just absolutely incredible.  This is such a beautiful story about learning and adapting. About teaching others that there is more to a person then the outer coating. I can't tell you how much this story affected me, emotionally it had me crying like a baby but also rejoicing for Colton and Lilly.

On a personal level I have to say that I adored the fact that Amber showed such an amazing side for those who are on the Autism Spectrum. I have a cousin who is on it and this story emphasized to others what those of us who get to spend time with these special people know, how wonderful they truly are. And it also helps to show how much love they can give. 

Now as for my feelings on Lilly... I think she has such a grown up way of thinking. She sees beyond the label given to Colton to who he is deep down. She has a great way of showing others what she sees. She also does a great job on not only learning to adjust to make Colton comfortable but also showing him how much is out there. 

 Never judge a person by the label society puts on them. That to me is the true message in this story. BTW... I have to add, I started reading this story at midnight thinking I would only read a few hours before going to sleep... and didn't stop until I finished it as the sun was coming up. That's how addicting and spellbinding it is.

Thank you to Amber L. Johnson for giving me the opportunity to read and review this great story.  I truly enjoyed the way the Amber wrote this story and she went with a topic that many people are not willing to talk about or want to talk about.  This review is going to be different than my others because I have been struggling for what to write since I finished this story.  This will focus on what my feelings were.

What I love about this story:

The characters:  I love that these characters are not the usual character types that I read.  There was no Alpha male but the hero of this story stole my heart like an Alpha male does! The heroine of this story is one that I loved because she loved him for who he was, no matter what. 

The “twist” so to speak:  I love that Amber went there and talked about it.  No, I am not giving anything away on that.  I love that Amber used realistic things when writing this story.  I love that she found a way to give someone that is “different” than what people consider the “norm”, it doesn’t mean that they can’t love and be loved.   As a social worker, this story gave me great joy.

Thank you to Amber L. Johnson for providing me a copy of this book so I could bring you this review. If I wasn't already in love with this author and her writing I would be head over heals after this book.

Now I will admit I didn't really like Mallory our main character at the beginning of this story... I found her to be very immature, but then again I now understand that was the point. This story is about her growth from a spoiled teenager to a more mature young woman. And by the end of the book I really enjoyed her.

Tucker was a great character and one that you can see how misunderstood he was in his younger years. And he has a lot of responsibility for such a young man. He to me is what helps Mal mature and grow into a new better person.

My favorite character though is Sam Mallory's aunt. She gives Mal the kick in the ass she needs to get back into the world and not let depression and dispare take over her life. 

Now I have to say this story had be crying big, fat, snotty tears, and when I made the comment to Amber she very happily replied she wasn't sorry about that, and she shouldn't be. That is exactly the reaction that she was aiming for and helped it come across perfectly.

So you want to be taken away to a world where life isn't perfect, but you learn to grow up and try to make the best out of the situations life hands you, then this is definitely the book for you.

One decision to visit his favorite diner causes him to unwittingly put himself directly in the sights of a girl that just may give him a reason to fight - and to live.

Ok I wont lie, I orginally got this book because it was free on Amazon, but I also have to add that I knew the author and her writing prior to this book coming out. I'd just been on a budget and hadn't been able to get it until it was on sale. Anyway... I am so grateful to having been able to get a copy of it in my Kindle.

What a sweet, and emotional quick read. It is a great showing of never giving up. Of that even though things look hard and you don't know if you will even be around the next year, there is something to fight for. After Oliver discovers how sick he is and how his plans for life need to be put on hold, he doesn't seem to have the emotional strength to keep going. Then Hannah walks into his life and shows him there is a lot around that is worth fighting for. She shows him that he isn't alone and knows what he is going through because she has been there herself.

Its a great story to remind yourself that there is always something worth fighting for. I wish I could go more into it, but I really don't want to spoil the story. Just know it is one that you will start and before you know it will be done with. Oh and have the tissues handy.
