I really liked Brinley and Ryder, though they are college students and at times kind of felt immature, they were actually very accurate to their age and way of thinking. My heart broke for both Brinley and Ryder as they haven't had easy lives. It may seem that way to everyone else around them. It really hasn't been easy for them at all. I didn't like some of the things that Ryder did and suspected there was something more going on with him then we knew of at first, I did like his integrity overall. You can tell that he has always had strong feelings for Brinley even when he was trying to pretend not to.
Brinley is actually very smart, but shows her neive-ness at points during this book, the fact that she doesn't see the way and things a few of those around her do is when she really starts to show her immaturity.
