In Bronwen Evans’s Loveswept debut, a pair of damaged souls ignite each other’s deepest passions—even as they tempt fate by deceiving the world.
Desperate to escape her abusive past, Sarah Cooper disguises herself as a governess in the employ of Christian Trent, Earl of Markham, the man who, long ago, she fantasized about marrying. Despite the battle scars that mar his face, Sarah finds being near Christian rekindles her infatuation. A governess, however, has no business in the arms of an earl, and as she accompanies Christian on his voyage home, Sarah must resist her intense desires—or risk revealing her dangerous secrets.
One of the renowned Libertine Scholars, Christian Trent once enjoyed the company of any woman he chose. But that was before the horrors of Waterloo, his wrongful conviction of a hideous crime, and his forcible removal from England. Far from home and the resources he once had, Christian believes the life he knew—and any chance of happiness—is over . . . until his ward’s governess sparks his heart back to life, and makes him remember the man he used to be. Now Christian is determined to return to England, regain his honor, and win the heart of the woman he has come to love.

A Promise of More
In the second novel in Bronwen Evans’s sexy new Disgraced Lords series, two very independent souls find themselves fighting to resist a deepening passion.
When Beatrice Hennessey sets out to confront Lord Coldhurst, the notorious rogue who killed her brother in a duel, her intent is to save her family from destitution. She’s determined to blackmail the man into a loveless marriage. She’ll make the wealthy Lord Coldhurst pay for the rest of his life. But while greeting his ship, Beatrice takes a tumble into the Thames—only to be fished out by a pair of strong masculine arms that tempt her to stay locked in their heated embrace forever. That is, until she realizes those arms belong to Sebastian Hawkestone, Lord Coldhurst himself.
The little drowned mermaid has an interesting proposition indeed; one that Sebastian is surprised to find quite agreeable. Although he’s had women more beautiful, she is pleasing to the eye, and besides, it’s time he fathered an heir. Beatrice promises to be the ideal wife; a woman who hates him with an all-consuming passion is far too sensible to expect romance. However, it isn’t long before Sebastian’s plan for a marriage of convenience unravels, and he’s caught up in the exhilarating undertow of seduction.
Advance praise for A Promise of More

Adri's Reviews:
A Kiss of Lies:
Thank you like always first and foremost to NetGalley and Random House for providing us with the review copies so that we could read these great stories.
This is definitely the first book that needs to be read in this series. It gives us the first glimpse into the is going on. It also shares with us the first understanding of what is going on with the Libertine Scholars.
This is the story about Christian and Sarah. We are introduced to the only Scholar that decided on the battle field to marry and fall in love. Sarah grew up a very different life but she was forced to be someone she never thought she would have to be. I also think that is what makes them as strong as they are. As well as their love grow to the point that it does.
I have to say that I have enjoyed both of these stories and look forward to reading more.

I came across this book first and read it first, but I should explain that it is very important to read A Kiss of Lies first. As there are clues that are given to us in the first book about what is going on and each book seems to read concurrently.
I loved the character Beatrice, she is strong and self sacrificing woman who thinks about what is best for her family before her self. It does help that by choosing Sebastian instead of Dunmire, she has saved herself from a most despicable of men.
Sebastian is the proof that men's stupidity and closemindness has been around for hundreds of years. Though he is also ahead of his time in understanding and willingness to let a woman show her strength.
What both these characters have is that they are very much enjoyable and desirable in a good romance is chemistry. I also really enjoyed that even though its a story about people of nobility it wasn't really a story that focussed on a king or queen but others in court, and them not being perfect was fantastic.
There are more books to come and I will definitely be keeping an eye out for them, because I am warning you now, this is one of those series that I doubt we will know who is behind everything until it is done. You will be left wondering what happened and who is really behind it all.
I promise that we will have the rest of the series in the future... cause I wont be able to function if I dont know what happens next.
Happy Reading.... Adri
