BLOG TOUR & GIVEAWAY: In the Mix (GEG Series #2) by Jacquelyn Ayres

Book: In The Mix
Author: Jacquelyn Ayres
Genre: Erotic/Romance/Humor
Synopsis
*** This book contains the GEGs! For those of you who don't understand that warning: GEGs= strong language. gut-busting LOL moments caused by best friends who check their maturity at the door when they're together, and impromptu Kegel exercises. This book does not come with batteries. Though it can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the series in order since all books will have a continuation of EVERYONE'S story. Enjoy! *** CiCi O’Brien has a weapon of mass destruction—her mouth. It’s always loaded and ready to strike, whether the situation calls for laughter or a professional smartass. It’s been her strongest defense against unwanted feelings over the past fifteen years. If she acts like she doesn’t care, then she won’t, right? Yeah . . . keep telling yourself that, Ceese! Luckily for CiCi, she’s surrounded by friends and family who can easily see through her façade. They (and the furballs she takes care of at work) are who enrich her life, have been the ones she’s needed. That is, until the day her life changed—when she grabbed it by the balls. No, seriously . . . she grabbed him by the balls. Not kidding. Kyle Cooper has it all. He’s smart, handsome, and a ninja (not really, but that’s what Mitch likes to call him). As vice president of Colton Technologies, he travels around the world with Mitch, bringing companies the latest innovations in automobile technology. At home, he’s a force to be reckoned with, always hanging out with his parents and sister or . . . working. Oh. Kyle Cooper does not have it all, and he’s ready for a change. He just isn’t sure where to begin. That is, until CiCi O’Brien walks into his office and grabs this bull by the . . . horns (wink), which causes a spark to ignite in both of them. Kyle embraces it. CiCi does everything, short of calling the fire department, to put it out. Who will prevail? And what will that win truly mean?

 Erin's Review
If you haven't been introduced to the GEG's, what are you waiting for?!?!?!
I LOVED Under Contract but this one I FLOVED!
CiCi and Kyle's story is so much more than I expected.
Let's start with CiCi. She's smart, sassy, flighty, loves fiercely, swears incessantly and has a heart of gold. Her quick wit had me cracking up throughout the entire book. What I love about her is that she is written like we would speak to our own GEG's. She doesn't sugar coat anything. She will embarrass you in a heartbeat but she is also your most loyal ally, your voice of motivation, and the best friend you could ever have.
Kyle is perfect for her. He's stubborn, has the worst case of ocd next to my husband. Gives her as good as she gives him and I'll take him for an alarm clock any day!
Their story is filled with hot sex and plenty of laughter. It also deals with some pretty serious issues that are written in one of the most real ways possible. It added a bit of seriousness to CiCi and showed us her human side. Her wit is a shield, one she uses quite well. It's easier to laugh than it is to deal with what's right in front of you, but at some point you have to put your big girl pants on (just don't look in your hand bag, they aren't there) and deal.
The supporting characters are just as funny and I love the Thanksgiving dinner scene. That summed up their framily quite perfectly. The GEG's will crack you up, have you in tears and make you want to become friends with them. I love these girls and I love this series.
This book is a 5 star read from me. Jacquelyn just keeps getting better and I cannot wait to see what is next. Until then, CiCi will hold the crown for my favorite GEG.

Author Bio
I am a domestic engineer (born and raised in NJ) whose sole responsibility is to guide three young, impressionable kids into becoming phenomenal adults. This challenging yet rewarding work requires a lot of love (coffee), patience (wine), and determination (periodic exorcisms). I work this magic from the beautiful state of New Hampshire. Before becoming a domestic goddess (not really), I spent over a decade in the medical field, where I wore more hats than the Queen. I have loved the written word and the great escape it provides since I was a little girl. When I wasn't reading about people and the places they lived, I was creating my own characters and adventures. Finding myself again through my writing in The Lost & Found Series, The One, and The GEG Series has been nothing short of a dream come true. Also, it makes people feel better when I laugh randomly or talk to myself, knowing it's my characters and not "the voices" . . . that would be creepy.

Synopsis
Charlotte McKendrick is your typical thirty-something stay-at-home mom. She has three beautiful children, a loving family, special friends, and the most wonderful, adoring husband. Her life is a dream. Er . . . let’s try this again. Charlotte McKendrick is not your typical thirty-something stay-at-home mom. Yes, she’s got three beautiful children, a loving family (all of them lingerers—you’ll see), and her friends are special, all right! As far as her wonderful, adoring husband, what a joke! That bastard abandoned her and the kids six months ago. Now, she will do anything she can to survive and provide for her children. Even if it means signing on the dotted line . . . Mitch Colton is the CEO of Colton Technologies. Most of his year is spent traveling around the world, bringing companies the latest innovations in automobile technology. He doesn’t have time for a traditional relationship and the BS that comes with it. He doesn’t do the “marriage” thing, the “kid” thing, and he certainly doesn’t do the “falling in love” thing. All that said, he still wants someone to come home to. Someone who will offer everything he wants, and nothing he doesn’t. He realizes loyalty paired with these kinds of demands won’t come cheap. No problem. What he doesn’t realize is that once Charlotte McKendrick signs that dotted line, he’ll be paying with a lot more than money.

Erin's Review

This book turned out to be something completely different than what I expected! It is sexy, sassy, sweet and just a damn good love story. Charlotte isn't your typical call girl. She's a call girl virgin and Mitch is going to be the one to pop her cherry, so to speak. At first, these two are very nervous around each other, I picked up on that right away. You could feel the trepidation in Charlotte as she prepared to do whatever she had to to provide for her kids. Mitch came off like I expected him too. All business. BUT, and yes, there's a but, you could tell there was a bit more to him that he let on.
Their banter was funny, their talk sexy and the sex steamy with a touch of sweetness that I don't think either one of the characters was truly prepared for.
While I loved Charlotte and Mitch my favorite character was Charley's sister, CiCi. OMG the mouth on that girl! She is snarky, quick witted and has a wall so high a ninja couldn't jump it. She's the perfect balance to Charlotte. The rest of their crew is just as funny. I love the chemistry between the girls as much as I do the chemisrty between Mitch and Charlotte. It's like the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants meet Sex in the City. Everyone should have girlfriends like that.
 Now back to the sex.
Mitch seems to bring out a side to Charlotte that was hidden from her good for nothing husband. Good thing too, because it doesn't seem like the bastard deserved her. Now not everything is smooth sailing for the call girl and the CEO. Mitch must go through an epiphany of sorts and get his head out of his ass. Just wait until you see who is his biggest cheerleader...Gram. She is awesome.
Now before I give the story away, all I'm going to say is, if you think this is your typical call girl meets CEO you are wrong. It's much more than that. So throw your preconceived notions out the window and just one click this book. I sure hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
And don't think we've seen the last of the GEG Club!!!
