REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: Sweet Cowboy Christmas by Candis Terry

Sweet Cowboy Christmas
Sweet, Texas # 3.5
By: Candis Terry
Releasing November 25th, 2014
Avon Impulse

Blurb
Mistletoe, holly, and cowboys, oh my! Christmas in Texas has never been sweeter.

Years ago, Chase Morgan traded in his dusty cowboy boots for the shimmering lights of New York City and a fast track up the corporate ladder. But when his shiny life is turned on end just in time for Christmas, Chase knows he needs to reevaluate even if that means going home to Texas to endure his least favorite holiday.

When Mr. Tall, Dark, and Smoking Hot walks through her door at the Magic Box Guest Ranch, Faith Walker sees just another handsome, rich exec looking to play cowboy for a week-at her expense. She’s sure the grumpy, but sexy as hell Scrooge will put a crimp in her holly jolly plans. Until a sizzling kiss has her seeing him in a new light.

Chase is haunted by secrets, and even though it goes entirely against her “hands off the guests” rule Faith is tempted to help him leave the past behind. As the magic of the season swirls around them, she is determined to succeed because now she is certain one sweet, cowboy Christmas will never be enough

Excerpt:
“My God, you’re gorgeous.” Passion ignited the thick arousal surging through his veins.

“You might be gorgeous too.” Her head tilted, and a smile brushed her lips. “Hard to tell with all those clothes on.”

Laughter tickled his chest, and he surrendered to the heated curiosity in her eyes. He held his arms. “Maybe you can remedy that problem.”

She came forward, and he was immediately consumed with her honeyed scent. He wanted his hands all over her–now–and he didn’t think she’d argue if he took her hard and fast. But with her, he wasn’t in for a lightning round. Tonight, he wanted a pleasure cruise.

“I hope you came prepared to play.” She smiled up at him while her fingers trailed down the front of his shirt, unbuttoning it along the way. When the cotton fabric hung free from his shoulders, her warm fingers played over his chest, ran through the short hairs, then tweaked his hard nipples.

Her soft, seductive laughter rippled through him like the slow build to a hot orgasm. Then she leaned in, kissed his chest, and slicked her tongue across his nipple. “Mmmm. Definitely gorgeous.”

Unable to bear the heavy lust pounding through his veins another second, he kicked off his shoes, yanked a rag quilt off the back of the sofa along with a couple of pillows, and tossed them on the rug in front of the fireplace. Then he pulled her up into his arms until her legs wrapped around his waist. Her sweet scent engulfed him, made him even hungrier for her.
As the fire crackled in the hearth, and Michael BublĂ© crooned, “Baby, please come home for Christmas,” Chase eased her down to the floor.

“Playtime’s over, sweet thing. Time to get down to business.”

Sarah's Review:
Thank you to Candis Terry and Tasty Book Tours for continuing to provide our blog with amazing reading options.   I have read the other Sweet Texas books and I have loved every one of them.  This book was no different.  This was the first Christmas story I read this season and I am so glad it was an author that I am familiar with but also one  I truly love reading.

When Chase has a health scare, he decides that he needs a little R&R and ends up at Faith's B&B Ranch.  With past experiences, Chase is not a fan of Christmas and has avoided it in the past.  That is until he meets Faith.   Faith had a way of making Chase change his mind but she does it in a way that makes Chase not even realize what he is doing.   Watching the romance bloom between Chase and Faith had me in tears but also had me laughing.

It was also nice to see how our other Sweet Texas couple were doing.

SWEETEST MISTAKE BLURB
When friends become lovers . . .
Firefighter and former Marine Jackson Wilder has tough guy down to an art, but he’s learned the hard way that promises were made to be broken. Abigail Morgan was once his best friend, his first kiss, his first love, his first everything. He’d just forgotten to mention all that to her and she blew out of his life. Five years later, she’s back and he’s battling a load of mistrust for her disappearing act. But for some reason he just can’t keep his lips—or his hands—to himself.

It can lead to disaster or . . .
When her stint as a trophy wife abruptly ends, Abby returns home to Sweet, Texas, and comes face-to-face with Jackson—her biggest and sexiest mistake. Time and distance did nothing to squash her love for the act-first-think-later stubborn hunk of a man, and when he suggests they renew their old just-friends vow, Abby realizes she wants more. She’d cut and run once. Could she do it again? Or could she tempt him enough to break his promise?

Sarah's Review
Thanks to my friend Rach for gifting this book to me so that I could review it for the blog!  I appreciate your generosity more than you know.  Your support of this blog is greatly appreciated.

Jackson Wilder was great in "Anything But Sweet" and I was excited to read this one.  Boy, Jackson did not disappoint!  The alpha male, stubbornness, firefighter and Marine persona that Jack has is just part of who Jack is.  Jack playing with his daughter Izzy is so swoon worthy, especially when he let Izzy play make up with his face.

Abby, long time friend of the Wilder family and Jack's best friend.  She leave Jack and the rest of the Wilder family to wonder why she left.  Abby has an image as to what will happen since she is back, but she isn't sure how to handle Jack.

Watching these two friends turned lovers had me laughing at times, crying at times and wanting to smack Jack!  I love these two.

REVIEW: Anything But Sweet by Candis Terry

ANYTHING BUT SWEET BLURB
He's stubborn and thoroughly male . . .
If Charlotte Brooks thinks she and her TV makeover show can turn Reno Wilder's hometown upside-down, he'll be happy to prove her wrong. The ex-Marine has seen too much turmoil and he likes Sweet, Texas, just the way it is. Traditional. Familiar. A little dull. Everything Charli isn't. But instead of backing off from his scowls like everyone else, Charli digs in her skyscraper heels.

She's tenacious and wickedly tempting . . .
Reno Wilder is a one-man unwelcoming committee, but Charli isn't budging. It's clear the gorgeous cowboy needs an overhaul just as much as Sweet. Someone needs to break him out of that gruff shell and show him how fun and rewarding a little change can be.
They're about to find that love is anything but predictable.

Sarah's Review:
Thanks to Candis Terry for the signed copy of this story in a prize pack when Sweetest Mistake released.  Fortunately, I was able to get the Kindle copy when it was on sale!  I had been aware of this series because of a tour company that I work with but didn't take the tour since I hadn't read the first one.  However, I joined the release party because I am always looking for "New-to-Me" authors.  Ms. Terry has quickly become an author that I will be pouncing on tours when they come up, if I am aware of them.

Right from the beginning there was something about Reno that I absolutely loved.  I still can't put my finger on it, but between his Marine experience, Alpha male attitude, stubbornness, and overall reluctance toward Charli being in Sweet, he won me over.

Charli is a strong female character who is one that I enjoyed reading.  She knew what she wanted and she wasn't afraid to go after what she wanted.  Her determination to get Reno to break down his walls was fun to watch.

Jana Wilder, oh dear sweet heaven, I loved that woman!  She is a strong mother that I love watching.  She loves with all she has but she isn't afraid to put her boys in their place!

Oh the Wilder brothers are going to be fun!!
