Hailey Holloway has a serious knack with running from her problems. At the first sign of trouble she can be found lacing up her Nikes and hitting the road. Dacea has been patient with her, but a man can only handle so much. He told her before that he would not chase after her again and is he nothing, if not a man of his word. Katherine is more than happy to pick at the wound that festers between them. If she picks enough, she just might make one or both of them bleed.

War is on the horizon. Together, they need to convince the leaders of Blue and Silver to join their crusade against the Council, but can they put their differences aside and stop fighting long enough to help those in the line of fire?

EXCERPT

“Hope. That is your answer?”
He tilted his head slightly at her tone. “It is.”
“Why should I hope for something that is doomed?” she asked plainly. “What would going back solve? We’d be happy for what? Five minutes before some new drama puts us at odds. I’m tired of fighting all the time. Loving Dak is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. It’s like loving a frickin’ mountain. He’s stubborn and unyielding to the point that I just want to beat my fists against him but that would do nothing but make me bleed. I can’t take being built up again just to have him tell me how I’m supposed to live, feel or love.”
She gave a short humorless laugh and shook her head. “Hope is one of the worst promises I could give myself. Because if I allow myself to hope for him to come around, and it doesn’t happen…I will be broken. Dak is hard headed, inflexible and has arrogance coming out his ass. He is my Mate, and God help me, but I love him for all his faults, even if he can’t love me for mine.” While Silas listened he reached over and brushed his thumbs over each of her cheeks clearing away the tears. She batted his hands away and with a clear voice she continued, “If I walk away now, I can keep what little is left of me together. I can hold on to the cracked pieces that haven’t completely shattered and go on living. It might not be the best life, but it will be under my own terms.”

He should have been happy at her declaration. Silas could have his sister without Dacea’s interference. They could leave tonight and travel, go wherever she wanted for as long as she wanted. They could connect. But he could either have the Hailey that was full of pop culture trivia and was always good for a smile with her infectious laugh. Or he could have the reserved.

Hailey who watches the clouds pass by from the window of her room, never granting more than a brief comment to the mundane. He could have one or the other, but she couldn’t be both.
Silas may not have spent much time with her yet, but he knew who his sister was.
“Hailey,” he put his hands on her shoulders and tilted his head to the side trying to catch her gaze. “There is always reason to hope.”

REVIEW: Surreal (The Divine Trilogy #3) by R.E. Hargrave

 Synopsis
***Contains explicit sexual content (including multiple partners and gender pairings) and mature situations which could be trigger-inducing for some readers.***

Catherine O'Chancey is a young submissive who has found her happily ever after with a man far better than she’d ever dreamed.

Or has she? When does life ever work out so conveniently?

Jayden Masterson first opened his playroom to Catherine, a provocative Irish beauty with a penchant for pain. Then he opened his heart to her everyday persona, Erin. For him, life has never been more perfect, or more confusing, since he's comfortable as a Dominant but still finding his way as a lover and equal partner. Jayden is also learning that he can't protect his jewel from everything—nor should he. Some battles she must fight on her own.

Erin's past still haunts her, and as the couple move forward in their merging relationship, they must cope with the physical damage left behind by her abuser.

Catherine and her Master still have a lot to learn about each other, and about themselves. If Jayden and his jewel can overcome the challenges they face on the next chapter of their journey, their ending just might be . . . Surreal.

In this exciting conclusion to RE Hargrave's To Serve is Divine trilogy, she doesn't disappoint. Jayden and Catherine have had their ups and downs just like any other couple, but throw in the BDSM part of their relationship and you get a very interesting twist on what is to come for them. Catherine is the only one to come along and tame Jayden, but the question will be, can Jayden let her own him heart, body, and soul? In Surreal, we see some of the past characters and some new ones make appearances. They only add to the wonderful story of Jayden and Catherine's future.

This book, is just as well put together and thought out as the other two in the trilogy. I have to say this was the first series of the BDSM genre that I read and could tell that the author done their homework on not only setting the scene, but using certain phrases and such in the proper context. I easily give this book five stars. Mrs. Hargrave has given us a love story like none other, and I only wish this trilogy wasn't coming to an end.

REMEMBERING 9/11/2001

We ladies here at Sassy Moms Say Read Romance want to honor the memory of those lost 13 years ago.

It will always be the day that we as a NATION and much of the world stopped and held our breaths. We came together in support of one another forgetting our prejudices, our hate for one another, the color of our neighbors skin, their place of origin or their sexual preference and only saw a human that lost a piece of security. We learned that day that even great nations as ours is, is vulnerable but strong at the same time. That even though many innocent lives were lost, so many were saved and some showed the most incredible courage and self sacrifice.

I for one will never forget a second of that day. I grew up seeing those towers each and every day walking to and from school. Flew in and out of the same airport 2 of those flights originated from many times. A place that I was so proud and honored to go to on school field trips as a young girl. The place I took my husband the first time we visited New York early in our relationship. A place that hold so many dear memories. I will take this day and cry, smile and remember. I will cry for those lives that even all these years later are still hurting and suffering. Smile, because of how proud I am of so many young people who were just young children when this happened put their lives on the line to defend our way of life. Remember each and every person who was lost on this day.

My big brother is a police officer, one who took many of his off days to drive an hour and a half to NY to sort through ruble in hopes of finding something that will help identify a body so that their family can have some type of closure. I have a cousin that spent months in the hospital because a piece of fuselage fell on him on his way to work at the school across the street. A wonderful group of Marines that I love and adore who are deployed right now fighting to defend those who cant defend themselves. Because of them and many others I don't personally know I am proud to be an American and to honor this day.

I want to also take a moment and honor, thank and remember those who are fighting far from home and their families who support them and as well as those lost during these 13 years of fighting for freedom. To the US Armed Forces and each of the individual branches... THANK YOU!!!

Love you all... Adri

I think it goes without saying we all remember where we were that fateful day. I remember coming home from orientation and my parents called me and told me to keep looking up. We had heard a plane went down in Shanksville, PA, just an hour west of me. I will never forget those horrific images on the tv as we watched the day unfold. I will also never forget, then President George W. Bush standing on the rubble with a bullhorn.
There will be no reviews scheduled for today, out of remembrance. To those that took up the fight after we were attacked, thank you. To those who lost loved ones that fateful day and in the years after, we pray for you. May we never forget. God Bless You

~Erin

REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: Dreams of Perfection by Rebecca Heflin

BLURB:
What if perfection isn’t truly perfect?

Best-selling romance writer, Darcy Butler, is holding out for perfection in the form of her own carefully-crafted heroes. Once blissfully engaged to be married, Darcy’s post-traumatic commitment phobia is depriving her of the very thing she wants most: her very own happily-ever-after. Now, here she is just six months shy of her thirtieth birthday, and not a Prince Charming in sight.

Successful lawyer, Josh Ryan, is the boy-next-door with a soft spot for the less fortunate, and Darcy’s best friend without benefits. Darcy often comes to him lamenting her love-life, or the lack thereof, whereupon Josh patiently doles out his sage advice. Problem is Josh is in love with Darcy.

But when Darcy finds herself looking into the handsome face of the man who graces the cover of her soon-to-be-released novel, she’s convinced her dreams of perfection have come true. Or have they?

DAWN'S REVIEW:

I would give this wonderful story 4 stars. I love Darcy and Josh. They put that age old theory of 'can a man a woman just be friends' and yes they can. Even though there are some moments when we see both Josh and Darcy are trying to fight the inevitable,  Rebecca writes these characters in such a unique and beautiful way. I would have to say the one thing I love about her is her names of her characters. I would highly recommend this book to others, especially to those that love a good romance.
