REVIEW: Anything But Sweet by Candis Terry

ANYTHING BUT SWEET BLURB
He's stubborn and thoroughly male . . .
If Charlotte Brooks thinks she and her TV makeover show can turn Reno Wilder's hometown upside-down, he'll be happy to prove her wrong. The ex-Marine has seen too much turmoil and he likes Sweet, Texas, just the way it is. Traditional. Familiar. A little dull. Everything Charli isn't. But instead of backing off from his scowls like everyone else, Charli digs in her skyscraper heels.

She's tenacious and wickedly tempting . . .
Reno Wilder is a one-man unwelcoming committee, but Charli isn't budging. It's clear the gorgeous cowboy needs an overhaul just as much as Sweet. Someone needs to break him out of that gruff shell and show him how fun and rewarding a little change can be.
They're about to find that love is anything but predictable.

CANDIS TERRY BIO
Award-winning author, Candis Terry, may have taken 22 years to become published, but since 2011 she’s made up for lost time with the release of her new Sweet, Texas series and The Sugar Shack Novels—small town contemporary romances rich with memorable love stories, quirky characters, and tons of fun. Reviewers have called her books delightful, charming, and clever. Her short story in the anthology FOR LOVE AND HONOR was awarded a STARRED REVIEW by Library Journal Reviews and was called “Uniquely satisfying.”

Born and raised near the sunny beaches of Southern California, Candis has made her home on an Idaho farm for almost 20 years. She’s experienced life in such diverse ways as working in a Hollywood recording studio to chasing down wayward steers. Only one thing has remained constant: Candis’ passion for writing stories about relationships, the push and pull in the search for love, and the security one finds in their own happily ever after.

When not writing, Candis can be found camping and ATVing through the beautiful Idaho wilderness with her family.

Sarah's Review:
Thanks to Candis Terry for the signed copy of this story in a prize pack when Sweetest Mistake released.  Fortunately, I was able to get the Kindle copy when it was on sale!  I had been aware of this series because of a tour company that I work with but didn't take the tour since I hadn't read the first one.  However, I joined the release party because I am always looking for "New-to-Me" authors.  Ms. Terry has quickly become an author that I will be pouncing on tours when they come up, if I am aware of them.

Right from the beginning there was something about Reno that I absolutely loved.  I still can't put my finger on it, but between his Marine experience, Alpha male attitude, stubbornness, and overall reluctance toward Charli being in Sweet, he won me over.

Charli is a strong female character who is one that I enjoyed reading.  She knew what she wanted and she wasn't afraid to go after what she wanted.  Her determination to get Reno to break down his walls was fun to watch.

Jana Wilder, oh dear sweet heaven, I loved that woman!  She is a strong mother that I love watching.  She loves with all she has but she isn't afraid to put her boys in their place!

Oh the Wilder brothers are going to be fun!!
