Adri's Review:

Oh I can gush about this book all day long. I loved it. Getting to see more into Cody and his wolf and how they are faring is fantastic.

Brave are the Lonely is book two in the Fevered Heart series. It starts a month after book one (Marshal of Hel Dorado) ended. We see how the journey for both Kid and Cody has gone. When they both left the Flying K ranch right after Sam and Scarlett’s wedding at the end of the first book, we are left wondering where they’ve gone and how they are doing. Well in book two we get to find out. Where Kid Kane is dealing with his own issues and feelings by bedding every available female he comes across. Cody is dealing with the wolf’s sadness and pain at losing his mate.

A big problem with Cody and his wolf is that they are of two minds and two hearts. Where Cody see’s Scarlett as nothing more than a sister, the wolf always saw her as more. It takes time for the wolf to reconcile with that. Something that helps greatly is the fact that they come across some travelers.

Mariska is a princess in her Travelers group. Her father is what could be considered the “Chief or King” within the traveling gypsies. They are traveling because Mariska’s father has promised her to a man in exchange for his help. Well she isn’t exactly happy about those circumstances and fights with her father as soon as they camp for some time. Only problem is that some Indians have decided that they want what these travelers have brought with them. Cody and Kid both come in to help save not only the travelers but Mariska as well.

After a disrespect to their ways Mariska’s family leaves her scared, sad and alone with Kid, Cody and his wolf. But it’s due to this situation that Mariska and Cody begin to bond, helping man and wolf to heal as well.   There travels aren’t safe there is an unknown danger that lurks and follows them.
Like I said I can talk about this story all day. It rivets you to your seat. It grips you with action, love and adventure. It gives hope and shows healing. I promise you it’s a story you won’t soon forget or put down.
